The Winter Line Research and Documentation Center of Livergnano has born thanks to the ongoing relationships with World War II veterans. Gothic Line, in fact, is the place where both Axis and Allies have suffered the high casualties.

The aim of the curators is to promote pacification and brotherhood among peoples. “… I know that the names ‘Gothic line’ and ‘Livergnano’ will strike a resouding note in the memories of all of you Powder River men, as places where the fighting was the bitterest and where we lost so many of our comrades. Their sacred memory will never be forgotten …” (Vienna, 29 November 1946 – Mark W. Clark, General USA Commanding).
